Went for a 10 mile bike ride yesterday on my birthday. It felt great. I could tell the areas where I need some work, but I'm thankful I'll be able to work on them this year without so much stress in my life.
My goal for this week is 40 miles and I might fall short, which is okay, still looking for a job and interviews take priority. Life is good though. :)

Thought I'd get out on the bike for a bit. I needed a ride, just stressing about too much stuff out of my control and a ride calms me. It was about 48 degrees, still pretty cold and windy. Rode only a small stretch of the bike trail because of remaining snow and ice on the trail. It's still early in Spring, but I'm eager, like everyone else, for some warmer temps. This past winter has been so cold. Bring on the warmth.

20 miles today
It's kinda funny how I find myself back here, almost a year to the day, from my last entry. So much has changed in the past year: I am divorced now and a single mom. I took the last few months off to spend some time with my boys and fix up the new place.
I haven't biked much at all this summer, really haven't had time...well, made time, I guess is more accurate. I was pretty overwhelmed in the beginning trying to get everything I thought I needed to done and now it seems as if I'm pretty much there.
It's been interesting the friends I've lost over the year, some mommy friends who I really thought would be there for me and others I've gained by work or similar interest or through association. My kids have adjusted nicely and I have a new man in my life who is a real nice guy. I'm planning to get a job, so when school starts I will have something to do and outside of that, things are pretty good. So, I guess I've had enough of my excuses and I'm ready to get back into shape with the rest of summer. I could stand to lose about 10 lbs and no time like the present to start.
